The City of Newport has announced that local children can submit letters to Santa.
According to the city, there is a special mailbox located in the lobby of the Newport City Building at 998 Monmouth Street. Families can drop off their children's letters starting on December 6.
Letters received by Santa by Friday, December 18 will receive a response from The North Pole.
The Newport Fire Department is also hosting pictures with Santa on December 7 from 3-5 p.m., followed by the town Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. On Saturday, December 14, families can take photos with the Grinch from 2-4 p.m. at Peluso's Market at 627 Monmouth Street. Photo activities are free of charge.
